whats a good mod on a mk3 golf, for around £80?

Depends what your after... Style or speed?    For £80 speed aint gunna happen, but you could get a nice backbox with a bit of grunt,  or a K&N Pannel filter.   Mabey a pannel filter and a good service,  probably the best power gains you will see without spending massive ammounts of money  :smiley:

did the oil change today, and brought some new plugs too
and an oil filter, cant get the bloody thing off though:)

what are you using to get the oil fitler off?


For panel filter, id get a pipercross one, its what im using, and its what rtechuk recommended to me.

and an oil filter, cant get the bloody thing off though:)


Stab a screw driver into it, and then use that to lever it off.

thats how i got my filter off on the mk2  :laugh: ghetto but works a treat.

thats how i got my filter off on the mk2  :laugh: ghetto but works a treat.

Does the job when your in a tight spot, as you cant grip it that well. I do have remover thing, but its basically just a belt that grips it. Not as good as stabbing it.

I Used a large G clamp on my valver.

The filter sat in the 'cup' of the G and clamp was screwed up tight to grip/wedge the filter. Had to do do this as there's not enough room to swing the proverbial cat let alone a hammer enough to get the screw driver in  :angry:

But if there is enough space a screwdriver works like a charm.

yeah i tried using a belt grip thing, didnt work
i'll just jam a screwdriver into it, see if it workss!!:)

tbh m8 uve had loads of replies, but no1 has had the common sense to ask what have you done to ur car already??  :smug: ave you got pics?? least give us an idea what we have to work with. :undecided:

not done anything to the car yet, standard, just trying to get it to run a lot nicer before i mod it
