Title: Competition Rims..... What tyres?

I'm going to be picking up some Competition rims for my Golf this week and i'm at wondering what tyres i can get away with fitting? Apparently they come with 225/45 when their fitted to the TT. Would 205/45's on the front and 215/45's on the rear be ok?  Any advice would be great :-)

I take it these are 17"s if so the correct size is 205/40/17, this will keep the gearing right and avoid clearance issues.
