Title: Collinite
Post by: DMackie on 10 May 2009, 17:25
I bought some collinite 915 and applied it to the car this weeked, however i just wondered when removing it do you wait for it to dry on or only leave it a few minutes then wipe off.
I found it really hard to take it off without missing bits.
I applied a second layer without leaving it to dry as long and it came off alot easier.

don't leave it to dry forever as it'll set like rock and you won't shift it

at the same time... don't take it off while it is still 'wet' as that is pointless

resist the temptation to put loads on with each coat... are you using an applicator pad?

leave plenty of time between coats to let them cure

im using the applicator padds you get in the kit, are you meant to dampen the pad first?

you can use a bit of QD if you like... but it isn't going to make too much difference, if any... i tend to work the wax with either my fingers or with the pad first to make it nice and 'supple'

were you getting a white powdery residue when you were removing the wax the first time?

I dampen mine first.

And with coli 476 I do ONE panel at a time, leaving it to cure until its "skinned over", prob about three minutes.

i dampen mine if its a blazin hot day, it makes it easier to apply, also apply it thinly so its easier to take off and you waste less too
