Title: wheel bearing from halfords

just went to halfords to get a new rear wheel bearing kit. the thing is i have taken the outer bearing out, which is a tapered roller bearing thingy, whilst the one in my new kit doesnt seem to be tapered. i first assumed the kit must have been a halfords cock up, but i looked at a couple on ebay and they seem to be non-tapered aswel. has anyone done a wheel bearing on a 1990 jetta? im confuzzzzzzed

forget that! turns out im just a pillock. anyone who can guess what i got wrong is the winner  :laugh:

My guess would be you left the outer cage still in the disc.

nope, didnt even unwrap it, so it still had the outer race thingy on. so it looked like it wasnt tapered. cool ey
