Title: MK4 CRYSTAL SIDE INDI'S

Hi guys i ave a 97 mk3 gt1 16v, i am just about to put mk4 crystal side repeaters in all i need to do is modifi my old loom from a mk4, wat a great and easy mod. have many of u guys done this

I did it last year and it looks the nuts. The guys at German and Sweedish said they wouldn't fit and wouldn't sell them to me! I went to the main dealer, bought the lenses and the bulb holders and bulbs, adjusted the looms to suit and never looked back!

the crystal look looks great against the black paintwork I have and brings the car up to date.

I made the mistake of putting 'lexus style' rear lenses on but after about a week was too embarased to drive the car so a nice pair of FK-Automotive crystal 'M3 style' replaced them. bought from jv on here.

I also put in-pro crystal fronts on which enabled me to keep the factory front fog lights. I learnt the hard way, getting a pair which split at the indicator, meaning a choice of no fog lights or foghlights and cr*ppy tow hole covers with crystal indicators.

Turned out nice in the end though... :) :D ;D

cool mate, i wanna get fk automotive rr lights too but not sure bout the crystal ones they do a slightly different pair i believe, i have in-pro front lights too i got them from euros, i work for a vw main dealer in the parts so it is handly for me to mod me side indi's !!!!!!!

I am after crystal front indicators and fogs, I dont have any fogs yet but I do think I have the right buttons on the dash.  Any ideas where I can get a good set of bits for it.  Also I am after crystal front lights, any ideas?

Not sure as to where source the headlights but u need to see if your fog light switch is suitable for front fogs, if it is it will have two positions when you pull it out, if it doesnt then you will require another fog light switch, these are available on ebay etc, and from main stealerships at a cost of approx ?50, so i would recomend ebay or a scrappy for the switch should you requie one.

I would try german & sweedish and other after market outlets for the crystal fogs and indicators.

yer mate
got mine of ebay, then went to the local car shop and bought some brighter bulbs
makes a heck of a difference.
also done the front fogs and front lights aswell

i've been interested in updating my side repeaters, but what is it exactly that you have to modify in order for them to fit, can anyone show me any pics? just so as i know what to look out for etc etc

Got the switch which goes into the two positions but no fogs.  So I am going to need the loom and bits.

Hi Im after doing this mod on mine black mk3 replacing the original smoked repeaters.

What mod is needed on the existing unit? Anyone got any info? Is it a case of cutting the old one off and replacing with new loom, or am I missing something here?

i picked up a set of mk4 style for my mk3 on ebay for £20, well worth a look and dead easy to fit
