Yet another newb question..
After sorting my water leek today i now have my oil warning light on and beeping at me.
i have fitted new headgasket, oil cooler, oil filter and filled to the required level of oil however i did find out that it was filled half way up the dip stick by the previous owner and i drove it 3 miles like this.
Can anyone tell me were the sensor is or possible other problems.
I am new to VW after being a vauxhall man for 10 years and i realy want it to be a change to stay so please help :embarassed:

on top of oil filter housing, there are two, blue one and white one, for different operating pressures
-
what is it 8v or 16v? on the 16v both the sensor are on the filter housing, on the 8v one is in the houisng and the other is in the sid of the head.
white sensor triggers the light and buzzer over 2k if the pressure drops below 1.8bar, the black/blue/brown one triggers the light only at idle if pressure drops below 0.3bar
-
sorry yea its 8v.
if its low pressure any ideas as to what it could be?
head gas just done was skimed at same time, new oil cooler fitted and new filter oil light has come on since this was done wasnt before
-
Low oil pressure could be your oil pump.

Well what can i say after the process of elimination it was a faulty sensor, fitted new one from vw garage next door Bobs your uncle its fixed
