Title: Already mapped ?

I there any way of telling if my car has already had a remap ? are the sw codes different ?  or is there some other way of telling ? apart from a rolling road.

The only ways to tell is data log the ecu requests via vagcom, read the map and compare checksumms with a know factory map with the same sw id or drive another car of same spec.

I am in Crewe Cheshire. I dont have vag com, just a snap on heritage scanner, just wondered if the sw code might change after a remap as I dont know much about the historty of the car in that way. I am considering getting it mapped but dont want a wasted journey. It feels like it could do with being faster.
