Title: Modified your brake bias valve?
Post by: jamie_pyrite on 07 May 2009, 09:56
I was out with some mk2 lads the other night and they said they've both modified their brake bias valve to compensate for them lowering their cars otherwise the rears lock up first.

Has anyone else done this? I know I haven't and I'm thinking I should do something about it!

depends how low you go!  my unscientific method is to set it so the slack is just taken out of the spring, and so far ive not locked up the rears. the problem comes if you proper slam thge car, then there is no more adjustment left in the spring.
in this case I have someone stretch the spring, which involved putting it on a vw widowmaker jack and slowly unwinding it, inside a bin to prevent carnage should the spring ping off!

This is something I would advise doing. Its not a good feeling when you have the back end go twitchy under heavy braking.
