im just looking at alloys at the moment, are there any specific makes to keep away from and what makes would you recomend, nothing that will cost over £500 ish. thx

I would avoid the cheaper makes Wolfrace / rimstyle and Halfords to be honest, you have a lot of choices, check out the mk4 section and go from there.
