Title: Suspension
Post by: papperbear on 05 August 2004, 16:17
I need some help with a back end problem .... every time I go over holes in the road the back end of the car seems to thud or knock against something.  I thought it was the shocks but I've replaced them and its still happening.

I dont know a lot about cars, so I can only guess that its the springs ??

Check the rear axle bushes.

Where are they and what am I looking for and any idea of a price?  If you could explain what they do that would be good?

I've got a Haynes manual but I find it hard to relate what they're saying to the bit of the car!

Cheers - Steve

Try the shoch top mounts. They tend to "Knock" when worn

Is this the kind of problem I can leave until my next service (about November) or I should really get sorted out as soon as possible?
