Over the last few days, my 1990 1.8 totally standard KR has developed a problem. Cold starting is very troublesome. VERY lumpy idle, but clears after about 3k, parked up. If I drive it, it jolts and kangaroos like fcuk! After about 5 mins of driving on the bypass, it warms up and drives and idles perfectly! If this was the ISV, would it idle after warm up? I left it for 10 mins and restarted it, and it idled fine! But after 4 hours, lumpy idle again! Also, using buckets of fuel whilst in this state! Any advice please guys?

that wont be the isv, more likely the wur/5th injector

That was what i was fearing!!!!! Having a look after my bangers n mash. Let you know how I get on. Btw, could anybody describe the WUR for me, bit unsure tbh! Is it the fist sized thing bolted to the front of the block?

i had a similar issue but not quite as bad, i disconnected the wur and that sorted it. probably down to the idle mixture being off, but siojce car was coming off the road soon anyway i never bothered to look into it any closer!

similar issue a while back on a valver. Lumpy idle and would cut off and not start again! Was the cold start value or WUR.

Just out of interest, what's actually inside the WUR??
