Ive got a black MkV Golf that I got about 6 weeks ago, it has quite a few stone chips on the bonnet, some on the sides and a few light scratches (i think these are from bushes or trees)
Can someone give me a list of what I would need to sort these (in addition to a paint stick) and a method to do it.
Ive never done this before so please make it idiot proof

Apart from the paint stick you will need a good paint cleanser I use Meguiars #83 or Mezerna IP
A good polish /sealant like AG SRP or Megs #80.
You could also go down the route as to sanding back the paint blobs on the chip repairs

it might help if you use a cocktail stick instead of the brush supplied with the touch up paint
make sure you use the correct paint code

Would you recommend I get a loan of a machine polisher for this? Ive not got one :embarassed:

The results would be better, but I would suggest having a try on a polisher first using an old panel if you have not used one before.
I learned on a rotary and now use a DA however in the wrong hands you can make some serious mistakes with both
If you start off with 2000 grade and then refine with 4000 you can easily polish out by hand. I'd use either the Megs #80 or Mez FF.

Has anyone every tried this?

Was recommended it by someone on the scottishvag forum.

Looks fab but to be honest any thing like this takes loads of practice, same results can be met if just using the normal touch up pens and a good polish after

Will AG SRP have enough bite to sort out the paint after sanding with 3000grade paper?

i dont use srp but you could give it a go and see how it turns out i would recomend a good finishing compound then use the srp
