268/260 is a split profile, shrick use to make them designed to help with more torque lower down the rev range.

I ran a 270 duration cam on one of my MK2s made it a bit lumpy on idle but it gave me est 5/7bhp with other std mods.
I have the old cam in the garage which i might stick in one day as ive been told they give better performance than the std Mk3 8v GTI cam.
I would say its better to do the tappets/seals at the same time cos it aint fun doing it twice as i found out

270 is on the limit of to what i would use. I might do seals, but will deffo recondition the tappets. I might just buy another mk3 head and rebuild it completly with new seals and polishing it all. See how im doing for funds. Need to prioritise other things first.

I would go for the split profile, will help the torque and also keep the idle smooth.

I see. Im loking for power up the rev range tbh. Im not into the race off the lights thing, im more into 3k rpm+ stuff, and I dont mind a lumpy idle.

had to be done, lol

as title. Say I want to do a flying start. 1st to 2nd takes moro effort to change. If it was as fast as 3rd to 4th for example, then I reckon it could shave 0.5/1 second off the 0-60 time.

Why?

Officer mikester on duty!

One thing is 0-60 testing, another thing is racing off the lights, where it is illegal
