Faster than a Mk3 8V ;) Never under-estimate the power of PTW! Its kept up with a 16V on the low end before, A stripped out interiour, Some of the lightest alloys OZ make (except for turismos and superleggers) and a carbon hood comming.

Add that to a full zorst system, a custom carb, HT leads and i think it will pull faster 1/4miles times than a standard Mk3 8V, Might even take on 8Vs with a zorst and induction kit.

you know who you sound like?

why don't u add a fantasy bhp figure to your sig to and go the whole hog?

btw.. what scene are you part of exactly? neon chav crew?

0-60 isnt the only thing with performance.   get your ass on a motorway.. i'd love to see you try and match even a mk3 8v.  being fast racing around a car park with the chav's is one thing. fast on the open road is another.

I have a BIG dislike for all things phoney.

No mate, You seem to have a big dislike for anyone different, I build my car the way i want it, And im sure you build yours to how you want it. I dont give a sh!t and neither should you, Why get so worked up about some one putting lights under there car? I can name another member on here with a car much faster than most on this site with Neons. Your beginning to sound like Chav Turbo your self, Treating every mod like devine insperation while looking down on other peoples cars with there own modifications. I dnno whats got up your ass, But you started this argument not me, Im just sticking up for my own views. I do my sh!t, my way, You have a problem with it then keep it your problem, Dont come on here and start preaching your sh!t at me, When YOU have a bodyshop sponsering your car, Come back here and tell me how to build my car. In the mean time, f**k off.

Back on topic - Forgot to add:

I got a ?10 gift voutcher from Halfords which was used to buy a rather large can of 'Gunk' motor degreaser, Great stuff, Id recomend it to anyone looking to clean an engine bay, Just rember to cover any electrics, My indicators stopped working and i had to re-wire them because water got under the connecters  >:(

what the hell?  let me put this straight.

anything different what? where have i slagged off anything different?

i've never said sh!t about my standards, i've never slagged off anyones car. i've never slagged the mods to your car off. so dont step to me with that rubbish.

what mod's am i treating like divine inspiration? i'm confused as to where this comes from?

you don't have a GTI, yet YOU started poking fun at someone else for having a car that doesnt fit  YOUR standards because it looked 'normal'

hang on? he has a GTI, you don't.

bit of a hypocrite aren't you?

i believe its a 1.6 driver
Title: Re:This month I have mostly been buying...
Post by: golfvr6 on 03 August 2004, 19:11
Ah i see,
I used to have one of them, i did actually think it was fast at the time, but the only other car i had driven was a Polo 1.3.
I'm afraid to say that the 1.6 carb engines aren't very quick, certainly won't beat any GTI models.

Probably because it was dislodging all the cack that's built up over the years, and you sure you weren't driving it just that little bit harder to see if it made a difference ?  :P  ;D

It was wierd, Usally when i floor it it picks up slowly to 3,000RPM then flys to the redline at 5,000 RPM, Then i shift and the tach goes back down to 2,000RPM where it will slowly work up to 3,000RPM then start to fly up again.

However on the optimax is seemed to lower the whole thing down by 1,000RPM The car would kick and fly from 2,000RPM all the way to 4,000, Then start to slow up to 5,000, Its just like it moved the torque a lill  ???
