Well folks, just sold my beloved GTI after 2 1/2 years of ownership
Need a bigger beast so looking at a 3 litre Touareg in DBP
Advertised it on Pistonheads night before last and got 2 enquiries within 40 mins. Sold at asking price to the first viewer this afternoon
Car was mint as I got Paul Reed from Wonder Detail to do the paintwork again - looks absolutely mint and well worth the price to have the car in such good condition - clinched the deal I'm sure.
I've enjoyed this forum and I'll probably stick around for a while to enjoy the banter.
Just got to sell my OEM Bluetooth kit which I blught from Stu via this site - never got round to getting it fitted  Will put it in the For Sale section. Anyone interested - please feel free to PM me.
So, the search now begins for a diesel monster to enhance my carbon footprint

Good choice, luv those big beasts!!!!

How much you after for the Bluetooth kit mate?
-
 Bye GTI
 Hello Touareg
I'd have thought it would (just about) reduce your carbon footprint though?

Not entirely sure Hurdy - will have to look at the emissions and average mpg of about 28 for the Treg. GTI was about the same but got significantly more on a run (if not too spirited a drive)
Done a couple of trips recently from Tyneside to see my beloved Spurs in London and I have a carbon clear conscience having taken my wife's Toyota Aygo down for the last trip - almost made 70mpg  !!!!!
Anyway, going to troll the internet tonight/this week and find me a Treg Altitude in DBP and then negotiate HARD.................

Crikey! Are you really choosing your ride with your carbon footprint in mind?
Ever heard of Dust-to-Dust? That's the real carbon footprint statistic - The result of starting from dust through manufacturing and a yardstick of 100k miles back to dust via disposal. Exhaust emissions is just a political scam to tax you. The Pious is about #80 on the list and the V8 Jeep #1. Batteries are bad news eco-wise.

Dalmatian pup and the wife's bought a tent and all manner of camping kit - no way would i consider putting a towbar on the GTI
Needs must I'm afraid :smug:

No way RR - comment was tongue in cheek. Don't give a toss personally, that's why I've gone for the 3.0 litre over the 2.5 :smug:
Couldn't justify the V10 and probably couldn't afford the fuel anyway. Thought about a Tiguan a while back but even that ain't big enough
Guy who bought the GTi is delighted with it, and so he should be. Decision to sell still tinged with some sadness but I'll get over it.

Sorry to see ya go cass!! Im sure you will be back in the Gti soon

....A true petrolhead! :afro:  :afro:
I get a bit pissed off with the promotion of the idea that it's all down to the motor car.

I've seen a couple of demo R36's around the £21-22K mark .... seems superb given the list with the kit it had would be £33K
R36 or 3.0 Towrag - both would actually appeal to me too in strange, different kind of ways to my Ed 30

Hi RedRobin
In the forum under exhausts - I have a ABT rear muffler and rear skirt for sale. Take a look, its on the 2nd or 3rd page. ABT being a premier German brand. As new, never been attached to a car. For a Mark 5 Golf GTI.
^^^^
Most definitely a must! :afro:
-
....
I used to have an Abt rear exhaust trim and sold it last year.
-
Where did you sell it?
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks

Right - back on thread !!!
GTI gone to new owner in Grimsby. Proper petrolhead who will love the car
Couldn't resist spending 3 hours on day of sale (yesterday) to give the old gal a good wash, hoover and final wax
Looked mint and sad to see her go but the readies in the bank go some way to compensate :smug:
Just confirmed a deal on a new Touareg 3.0 Altitude 240 bhp today at a very favourable discount and should hopefully have her next week.
In Diamond Black Pearlescent of course
Sticking around for a while on here though

Hi Cass... I've seen your car (ex) this morning, a credit to you for the condition you have kept her. Gary is over the moon with it.

Thanks Martin,
Gary seems to like his cars and I'm sure he'll enjoy it and take good care of it. Great guy to do business with : )
The drive looks a bit empty at the moment but I'm just waiting for a retention certificate from the DVLA and then I'll be finalising my Touareg deal asap. Tell Gary to get on here and keep me posted about the car
