Title: Checks before a mamouth road trip!
Post by: BlazinGTI on 30 April 2009, 13:46
Alright lads,

off to the nurburgring monday and returning via amsterdam on the friday, my car is in pretty good order and had a major service about 6000 miles ago, cam belt etc etc.

just changed the oil and filters again today and chucked in some new plugs, along with new pads all round!

one thing i have never done is checked or changed the gearbox oil, looking at the haynes it points towards a 17mm hex key bolt on the side of the box? just undo and top up till it trickles out? is this correct? its the AGG engine 8v.

cheers

Take some water and oil in the boot, and you cant go wrong. lol.

I never check my car before long journeys (200miles+) and its never let me down.

You will be fine.
