Title: Rare golf mk1 cab?
Post by: trickster on 29 April 2009, 22:06
Hey people..

After i bit of information about a golf cabriolet i bought september last year ..

Its a G-reg mk1 golf cab.. white paint, white manual roof, white seats with black cross stitch, side skirts, wing mouldings etc..

It's marked up as a GTI on the log book but when talking to a car dealer the other day, he told me that this was a limited edition rare car? he did come up with a model name but its now completly slipped my mind...

Is this fact? is this a limited edition golf??

Thanks

I believe they did do an all white special edition but not sure how rare and what year they were made.

Golf CC rings a bell, think the hood fabric had 'CC' embossed into it all over?

I thought that after posting my reply, didn't think they did any clipper type specials other than Rivage and sportline !!

The CC was 86 (C Plate) & had a CC logo on the seat checks.

Just checked the VWMK1 owners website & nothing listed on a G plate Ltd Edition.

I have one, it is a CoCo Chanel Cab,  You know if it is a real one because it has on the Log book CC in the car title, reason being it was a special addition was to be different to the standard GTi MK1 model, only 500 where made in the world making it the rarest of all VW MK1 of all, !

sorry to wee on your bonfire an all but only 470 rivages were made, of which only 252 had leather interiors...  and even fewer of these were Classic Green!  :smug:
