Hi all, this might probably be long winded but here goes lol.
Bought the 98' Golf 8v (agg) back in december 07. First problem was cutting out when ever i come to a stop so cleaned out the throttle body and fixed a vacuum leak, it cured that. Next problem spring 08' was the coil pack, packed up when changing the front fog's to clear one's, replaced that. just my luck i thought. So through out summer 08, it idled poorly off and on, so cleaned out throttle body once again, but problem still evident. so replaced rotor arm, plug's, oil change, but prob still there. Then into early 09 the prob got worse, when driving the car it started to splutter and become really hesitant and idle really poorly, so today replaced the maff, no change though, so then replaced lambda and hey presto, fixed.. what a story

Totally agree lol, dont get me wrong i really enjoy the mk3 golf, but the little niggles just make you want a mk3 more and more. Still like the idea of plonking in the audi 1.8 20v T block, but there rare as you can imagine where i live.
