Mrs Horney found out today that rather than being made redundant she's got a new job and a pay rise where she works.
Only downer is it's a 45 mile a day commute so the mini will be living in a garage and only used on sunny days. The search begins for a MKIV Polo wich will be lowered and rimmed of course! Seems to be the choice for other halves on here at the moment judging by the dub rides forum!

Awesome! I really wanted a polo before :) Nice cars!

Looks good, you actually get a good spec with them too. Elec windows, mirrors etc, airbags!
-
Good news on the job front Nick :)

Of course, just the same as any car. But for a 1.3 CL to hav everything is pretty good i thought, as its the same spec as the mk3 gti golf.
Sams polo has nothing becuase he bought the base base base base base base base model, then spent X amounts of thousands on it.... lol

Dub all the way Nick! My Mrs went Vauxhall 'cos her dad said' and she did. Now that I was right she has the Passat!. Polo will be fine for the daily trek mate.
-
good news for your lass mate, :afro: polos are the in things to have
-
Good news for your missus then.
And great that you'll be able to tinker with the mini for fun now.
The MkIV Polo is good. I had an N reg 5 door 1.4 in Dragon Green and it was pretty nippy on motorways and around town too. Unfortunately it was a Polo L, not even a CL, so had no PAS (which my missus didn't like) but oddly had electric mirrors.

Shock horror, she's bought a Blue Oval.

To be fair it was the right car to buy. It's my Gran's car and it's a 98 R Fiesta 1.3 Encore. Got 36,000 on the clock, FFordSH and it pretty much like new. For £500 you just can't turn it down.
Will get her the 25 miles to and from work cheaply and reliably.

I thought you mentioned something about breaking that the other week?
-
I did, ha ha. Rear wishbone bush had gone through lack of use as it's spent 4 years only being driven every couple of months after my gran gave up driving.
She paid £370 to have it fixed and given a clean bill of health from a Ford main dealer!

Thinking to get me one of them Polos when the mk2 gets to be hard work (and thats gonna be soon if it keeps breaking!).
