Title: mk3 gti feels like i have turbo lag!!! 2.0 8v please help

new to the golf scene

my 2.0 8v gti 1995 feels like it has turbo lag but with a miss fire
feels like getting air but no fuel
could it be the throttle position sensor???

any help gratfully recived
