My boot wont open from my keyfob... i have read the manual and it mentions to hold the button down for 2 seconds which i have done but it won’t open
Any ideas
-
I thought mine was broken for a while till I read the holding it down for a few seconds bit....
Sorry, thats no help
-
Is it supposed to actually pop open, or just unlock?
-
is that on both key fobs?
Just unlocks!
-
Silly question but you do know that the boot handle is the VW badge yeah?
-

Not 100% but im pretty sure its just unlock.
-
On my last car it used to pop open - havent ever tried it on the GTI TBH......
-
It doesnt pop open, just unlocks the boot release. Then you have to manually push the VW badge in to open it.
-
Yeah, thats I mean, it wont open, you still have the push the lid and pull it open.
-
Sounds like your key fob battery is on the way out, if it won't open with the handle that is.
-
i don't use this feature as you can lock you key in the boot by accident as once you close the boot it automatically locks itself! Just open the car normally and you can avoid this possibility.
Not that its happened to me or anything...
-
I have never used the boot botton on my key fob - never need to. Whenever I open the boot I usually need to unlock the car anyways.
-
iirc there was someone on here who made their own boot release that actually opened the boot fully using the keyfob.... :nerd:
ahhhh yes.... http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=93645.0
