I'm not sure you can legally wind it back. Come MOT time, it will be mighty questionable.

Lots have people have changed them (and posted guides). Never done it myself, but I'm sure you'd find the answer in a quick search ;)

In my opinion, clocking is generally, inadviseable.

I don't believe there is anything wrong per say with changing the mileage. Its just selling a car with a false mileage thats wrong. after all people do change their clocks after all if they are broken. You do need to consider the motives though.

im only doing it coz of the rebuild its had , not for the money if someone clocked a mk2 it would be pretty hard to belive lets say if you put 65k to get some more as its such an old car anyone could see it a lie so clocking for a money side of stuff is a waste but like i said i just want it to be zero for its live after the rebuild i dont intend on ever selling the car as i'd be fitting another engine later so out the clocks would go ,

nothing wrong with fetteling the speedo if you can,  when they fail you end up fitting a diffrent one with with diffrent miles or a new one with no miles,  as long as you declare it tot he new owner when you sell the car.  if you did get a snotty copper  just tell them it's on it's 2nd go round,     or as was the case with dads s1 landrover  the 5th go round  ( only 5 digit clock )

Yes thats what I'd understood, okay to do it but not to fool anyone over the mileage.
