Title: Servicing question
Post by: andeep on 27 April 2009, 14:38
Hi there, been doing a lot of research into when you should service your car, and I have a few questions.

I drive the car a lot and most of it is aggressive driving. I have read that you should follow the time and distance servicing, so does that mean I should follow exactly what the log book says and carry out the required jobs at the intervals the log book states and nothing sooner?

The only exception for what the log book says is the oil change, which I do at every 3000ish miles.

Depends on how much is a lot and how hard your aggressive driving is.

Follow time and distance at an absolute minimum if you are keeping the car for a good number of years. If not going to keep for long might chance just the oil changes and sell it on before anything bigger needs doing. Service more regularly if any performance mods or if you are super aggressive.

Some people's driving style breaks cars and some conserve them- get to know which camp you fall into and service as needed.

Just my opinion tho.
