i just found some heated washer jets on a mk3 16v in scrappy, how do they fit onto my mk2 16v, i,e, where do i wire them too, and are they worth the hassle anyway :undecided:

Ground goes wherever you want.
+ve can just tap off the spare +ve spade on the coil, that way it will only come on with the IGN live.

are they worth stickin on,

That's up to you, how often do you notice your washers freezing on the m'way?
A lot of the heated units don't really work anymore, so I've never had the luxury of having them. But whenever I drive Manc > Glasgow and its a chilly night, my washers freeze up.
Its hardly any hassle, about 10 minutes to fit at the VERY most.

i might go down an swipe them from scrappy later then,

My car has heated jets and they didn't work due to being very corroded and generally knackered - you may find scrappy items have the same problem.
I've now got brand new ones to go on from Euro, they weren't too much money, or rather I think it was worth it as I have had problems with them freezing when going over Pennines etc.

my old car had the washer jet pipe with a bag wrapped around the top hose
worked really well for an old car :)

i thought the mk2 gti's had them anyway, or was that later models only.
i would take the live feed from the heated rear screen switch, that way they are only on for the time you choose. if you wire them to the coil they will be on as long as the ignition is on and would probably burn out eventually.

Do heated jets have 2 wires either side of the washer fluid tube? If so my Mk2 has them (no idea what the wires were for)
