Title: Are xenons covered under warranty?
Post by: synnea on 26 April 2009, 17:45
I assume they are but just want to check. My front right xenon headlight has just turned pink!! I assume that means that the bulb is on its way out. Should it be sorted ok under warranty?

I don't think the bulb itself is covered but you could try...

Details of your Factory Warranty

Components subject to wear and tear include, but are not limited to:

Brake linings and disc pads
Clutch release bearings
Clutch pressure plates and centre plates
Tyres
Wiper blades (wiper rubbers have no warranty owing to their conditions of use)
Seat and backrest covers
Floor coverings
Spark plugs
Batteries for key fobs and alarms
Light bulbs
Shock Absorbers

Worth asking though :undecided:
Suprised to see Seat and backrest covers not covered (excuse the pun)

Thanks all for the help so far, I will call my dealer first thing this morning when they open and see what they say. I imagine those xenon bulbs (genuine ones) would be quite expensive.

Just off the phone with the dealer - seems they are going to be covered ok under warranty. Just waiting to confirm if the car needs to be booked in for the bulb to be fitted. Dont think its as simple a swap as a standard halogen bulb. Was told the bulbs are well over 100 quid each.
