Title: Mk2 gti speaker conversion

Wanting to replace the door pod speakers on the mk2.

From the factory, the male audio feed cable plugs into the a female adapter on the speaker.

Im doubting this male plug will plug directly into modern day 13cm speakers, so if it doesn't (can anyone confirm?) do plug-in adapters exist or have i got to chop off the old-school male adapter?

ive got soem adapters, maybe even some spares.. lemme check, otherwise easily available at motorfactory places.. got mine in Motaman in bristol.
