Was busy changing my alloys today for a set of RS4's when whilst changing the N/S/F wheel the jack slipped crushing my hand between the wheel and the arch (Hurts like mad now >:() and bending my arch out of shape....... Arch is now ok (popped back into place quite easily) But, Beware of the jacks cause IMO they are sh!t! Car looks superb by the way, Well chuffed.

Had it happen to me within a week of owning the car, bloody dangerous. That was on firm level ground with no wind. Imagine trying to change a wheel on the hard shoulder with 40 tonne trucks going past at 60mph. Group buy on mini trolley jacks anyone ? ;D

Buy a trolley jack, they aren't expensive :)

Have a trolley jack but forgot to take it :'( Can't usually be arsed with it rattling around in the boot. Was changing the wheel on a completely flat surface with zero wind. Like Tophuh said, Won't like to do it on the side of a motorway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 tonne jacks can be bought for as little as ?15 from the likes of Argos

you can get those inflatable jacks that work quite well, they have a big contact patch so aren't affected by wind etc. I personally use a trolley jack, i don't go near the golf with the bog standard jack its crap.

Hmmmm picture my day, arrive off the plane from oz 40 odd hours from a the last bed so more than mildly knackered, checked her over and jumped in the trusty stead and pootled off down the M4, just after the membury services "pop" flutter flutter. Thank fully the wheels hadnt been fitted by a silver back with a large spanner so 5 mins on the hard shoulder in the lovely british down pours didnt break me, thankfully didnt have any of the probs others seam to have had. Look after the BRT's, Black roun' tin's coz its a pain in the arse to fiddle with em in weather like this!!!
