Title: 16v Airbox
Post by: vwgti14 on 23 April 2009, 23:04
HI, trying to get hold of an airbox to fit my 1991, H-reg golf gti.
Is there 2 different sizes ??
On the top next to the metering unit i have part number : 027 133 837Q (at the moment i have no box, just pipercross foam filter) the metering unit measure 200mm wide x 300mm long.

I took an airbox from a local breakers...the metering unit had already gone so no part number, but when i got home is the wrong size 150mm wide x 350mm long. (to long and narrow to fit below my metering unit)
somebody has another one, but its part number is 027 133 837F (only difference is letter F) but i asked about size and its 200mm wide x 350long, so still 50 mm to long if measured correctly, ill ask him to check again, but does anybody know how many airboxes were fitted to the 16valve, i dont want to buy the wrong one again lol, thanks

yes the 90spec 16v has a larger airbox than the pre-90.  however a MK2 digifant 8v lower airbox half is the same as a 90spec 16v, so that might help you in your search :)
