I was just loading our van up at work last night when a mate turns up in a Transporter LWB 174Bhp version which he has had remapped to 220Bhp  It also has black and blue leather seats and 20" split rims
He also has a bodykit and lowered springs on order from Startech

It's alright but a factiry sportline looks better.

Looks ok but not sure on the grill.
-
The chrome on the grill and handles looks silly, and the wheels aren't to my taste but 220BHP in a van!

Ahh but this one is faster and did'nt cost him £21,000+

Yeah thats the only thing i'm not keen on either

Not sure on the wheels, do prefer the sportline as well. But I'm after a Black lwb one as a mission bus as they are truly mental vans!
-
I prefer the wheels on the Blue van to the ones on the sportline and they are only 18's
Oh and i got the price wrong, the LWB sportline van is £29,000+

crap vans tho if your into lugging things about, very poor load space, Transit is king or a sprinter :) but im guessing the owner of the blue one didnt get it for loading heavy bulky items about hahaha, think it looks pretty good, thought it would have got a better reaction on here... no pleasin some folk hahaha

220bhp through the standard gearbox.
That won't last, nor will the clutches.

just live a little you grumpy old sod
-
He has a fair point, these T5 have a really bad reputation for clutches and driveshafts even with standard power.

Oh just live a little, you grumpy old sod.
(I know about the reputation of the T5, naturally - 130PD chipped to 150bhp is about right).
Lower is the wrong way with a T5 anyway:

4Motion and portals is the way forward, clearly.

He uses it every day, he customises Harley D's and other bikes and carts em around in it

I doubt he's that arsed as his mate does all the work for a pint
And how can you say 150bhp is about right when the sportline is 174bhp ? Are VW that stupid they would make a van that would keep breaking clutches and driveshafts ?
-
Ummmm such things do happen! Look at how many new cars have recalls!
-
my mate is about to do summat similar to his camper so better warn him
DH you are a fountain of knowledge but a grumpy bugger with it
-
Just snapped this one at the local tesco's, quality number plate

Meh, that's an 88bhp TDI T4, not a T5.
There have been a LOT of problems with the 174bhp T5s. Speak to the specialists and they'll tell you - go for the 130 and chip it.
Get with the programme. It's not all about the headline BHP - reliability is a useful feature, too.

WTF ? I'm not buying one
