Title: Selling edition 30
Post by: ravydav on 22 April 2009, 19:53
I am thinking about selling my gti and was just wondering how much I might get for it. Its an 07 black 3 door manual edition 30 with 28k on the clock, just about to get 30k service done and 4 new tyres. It has mfsw, cruise,cd changer head unit, ipod prep(not that it was any good, went back to using old fm transmitter thingy) and parrot hands free.

Any help would be great.

Must go as building a house later this year and need the funds.

Offshore just now but as soon as home will try and get pictures up.

Don’t mean to sound mean but it is unlikely to make £15k in private sale !  :embarassed:

If you WANT to sell it would need to be below £14k perhaps £13,500

Motorpoint are doing brand new ones for £18k (2 years warranty, zero miles and 2 years newer for 20% sounds too smaller a gap)

Glasses prices below

Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 30
2.0 Petrol 3-door Hatchback
6 Speed Manual Front Wheel Drive
Year: 2007 07
Mileage: 28,000
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:  £13550

Average condition: £12200

Below average condition:  £10850

Recent auction results

2007 VW Golf GTI  2.0T GTI 5dr 17k £12,300 SOLD    (not e30, but 10k less miles)

I would say around £13500 private sale to be honest in todays marketplace.

If you need any custom install advise fire away as Michael Holmes (Home Building and Renovation Chief Editor and judge on Britains best homes) is a client of mine and I did all the tech in his new build.

The Motorpoint cars have been stood for over a year and only come with the balance of the 2yr warranty (which is now less than 1 yr). They are also imports which could affect the resale and have no extras. They are still overpriced IMHO.

As for Glasses guide and auction figures - they bear no resemblence to reality. Use autotrader and pistonheads to get a good feel for the market.
