i have missed having good clarity mid/treble combined with deep punchy bass. so have recently aquired an alpine V12 (freeby, just needed repairing) and a pair of 10" subs in a bandpass box. im not too convinced by the subs, the box is branded mutant, never heared of these in my sound system days but the box reminds me something of what boss sound used to make, (the subs were sh!te but the box was quite good with a pair of rocky`s in it) .
all i have at the moment is the bandpass box with the subs that dont seem to handle any decent power, a 4ch alpine V12 of some sort..
a pair of jvc 6x9"s in the parcel shelf (were already there) and the standard sh!t in the front (mk3), both the 6x9s and standards are run off the HU. i am considering chucking the 6x9s and just buying a decent component set for the front.
budget is about £80 for a decent set of components and i am a little stumped for subs atm and will have to stick with what i have and just tweak with them..
in the past in my axgt i had a mix of stuff, my favourite combination being infinity kappa components up front and a pair of 12" mtx thunders in a home made sealed box in the rear. the subs wernt loud but the sound was sweet.
this time i am looking for good quality but a loud punchy bass, i think i have a good box but what subs would you recomend (must be affordable)?.

component set up front all day long
6x9s give loudness but no clarity! keep it simple nice good set of comps in the front, coax's in the rear both amped but more power to the fronts.
depending on music style 10's or 12's and depending on cash id say at the higher end mtx they are soo good! cheaper options though you can get audiobahns for around £60 there not bad at all for the money but any well know make jl ect ect will sound great and so many deals right now.
with that set up it should sound sweet as, real good clarity with depending on sub real good punch!
as always though id say ure most important thing would be to use dececnt amps, otherwise you could spen loads on a sub but with a rubbish amp it will never sound good!
hope that helsp mate
