Title: BHP and Torque fiqures bit low?
Post by: ryanr32 on 19 April 2009, 12:02
me and my mate went to our local RR yestarday (Mikeanics of congleton) just to see what our mk4 1.8T's were running we both have the same engines AGU, mods cone air filter, stage 1 remap mine with r-tech and my friends with revo, plus he's got 110K+ on his clock and i have 90K! so he went on the rollers first to find his running at 188BHP and 230lbft, which we both thought was very good and then when i went on i was only running at 171 BHP @ 5162RPM and 195.7 lbft @ 3836RPM
i checked for boost leaks before(found none) plus had it on VAGCOM (no codes) and had a new MAF last week from VW! i was just abit concerned as of whats going on, was it the remap or somthing else causing my BHP and Torque figures to be so low!

forgot to add the graph is pretty smooth and had no flat spots!

Have you ever raced your mate side by side? From what i have read R-Tech pride themselves  on having more bhp more of the time. The revo mapped car might have more peak bhp,but i suspect that yours will have a higher average bhp.

how much longer did it take before you went on? Dont forget as the day gets warmer so you lose power could be down to tyres (pressures or quality)as they might be spinning slightly. do you both use the same fuel? has he got the sps unit if so he may have upped the boost? i personally take RR results with a pinch of salt . mine was 297bhp and 274lbft at jbs then  256bhp and 297lbft torque at TSR yesterday.  as perviously posted have you both ever raced side by side?

Weird.  I've got an R-Tech re-map, on an AGU engine, with 31k on the clock, and I'm getting 188BHP, and 235lbft.

as for your power problems - could be boost leak, N75 valve or possibly your MAF is shot
