I had a dream last night that I bought and Oak Green MK2 to use as a daily and kept the MK5 for weekends. How weird is that . . . . :undecided:
-
could be reality mate! sell it use the money left over to do it up and piss the rest up against the wall :afro:
tell me you've had that goddamn badge now?!?
-
haha ! Im watching Palace today and am meeting in the pub for about 1 ish so I'm going to pick up the badge at the depot in Croydon which is on the day. I will send you a PM when I get it.
Id love a MK2 but love my MK5 and the modern comforts it brings. Not to mention mine now goes like stink.

Easy! Keep the MK5 as a daily driver and use the mk2 for special trips at the weekend. Keep it polished and locked away and never drive it in the rain.
-
Get one! You know it makes sense

Prefer my cars colour over Oak Green :D
Tho I understand the wanting modern comforts bit, the hard suspension is hurting my back :undecided:
-
lol the suspension in the the MK5 GTI isn't exactly comfortable to be fair :(
If it wasn't stupid expensive for me to insure a car I really would have a MK2 on the side. I officially hate insurance companies :(
-
Just did a quick quote on one of the compare websites.
Cheapest was £650 :(
-
its good to be old,
but alan - if its just a Weekend Toy - classic policy with VERY limited mileage is the way ahead
-
Well, it would be just for weekends, I put down 5k a year as I would want to use a bit lol.
To be honest I really dont think I have the money to have both :(

Aon charge around £200 for 6000 miles a year. I just got my driver insured for £127 with unlimited mileage!
-
Yeah, but my insurance is crap because I'm young, which quite obviously means I'm a crap driver so have to pay lots :(

how the hell did you get insured on a mk5 with mods declared then? as soon as you mention a remap you'd send insurance companies running from you.
-
Not really, although (obviously) the price went up.
