Title: 16v trottle body
Post by: jamrock on 17 April 2009, 12:45
my golf was treated to an engine conversion by its perivous owner. i have been told it is a 2L 16v 9a lump out of the corrado. it was wired up very basic just enough to get it started. i am currently re doing the engine wiring to get her started again. the problem i have is that i have been told the throttle body is off an 8v (which the car orignaly was). the car statrts for awhile but then dies out. there is also a jack plug which is located near to the throttle body but mine does not have anywere to plug it in.

how can i be sure that it is in fact an 8v body??? will getting hold of a 16v one be better??

thanks

when i ran the new loom along the same route as the old, everything plug into the correct places. the plug left is near the throttle body.

does the 16v body even have a place to plug any kind of plug into??

nothing on that tb screams out at me as being a digifant one, looks like a 16v one to me. The 16v ones are often in 2 halves and it looks like your one is in the picture.  There should be an idle switch on the throttle body where that 3 pin plug goes in, looks like it is missing.

Heres a pic of mine, can see it quite clearly
