What's the easiest way to adjust the gear linkage on a 5 speed? I've loosened the 13mm nut and removed the splined shaft, reinserted in several different positions, but still bad selection. Mostly hard to get 1st & 2nd. Is there a set way or procedure to get this right? Question to.......Rubjohnny!!!

the 'right' way is to take the plastic cover off the rubber boot under the car, ajust it so the gap front & back is the same, and the gap between the reverse lockout finger and tab is 15mm.
the way i do it is put the linkage and stick roughly in the middle, do the pinch bolt up finger tight. Then go in the car and try all 5 gears. If you cant get 1st/reverse or 5th put it in 3rd and push the gearstick left or right to fine tune the adjustment, retry the gears. when you get all 5, tighten the pinch bolt :)
