Title: Welding a subframe...
Post by: Rmachines on 16 April 2009, 16:59
Is it ok to weld a subframe for MOT?  I have a golf thats failed just above the wishbone, its easy enough to Mig a patch over,  is it acceptable to weld them like you would body work or does it have to be a whole new one?

Cheers.

Its not my car, he just wants it through mot as cheep as poss.  Will probably weld it up, wax oil and hope for the best, it needs to be re-tested elsware now anyway, if it fails again i will stick a new one on.

cheers for the advice
