Title: MK3 Gearbox

I have a MK3 GTI with a 5 speed 020 DFQ box that is causing me problems. WIll a box from a MK3 1.9 TD with an 020 DPF fit and is it a straight swap or will I need to change anything else?

it will bolt right on if you swap the clutch friction disc to a TD one, but it'll have really tall ratios. great for cruising but not so much for accelleration.  Ideally fit the whole clutch kit though, silly not to while its off.  Oh and if its a late GTI the flywheel may be different, if it has 1 locating dowel its the late type and needs swapping for an earlier 210mm flywheel for the TD clutch kit to fit
