Title: Basic question...
Post by: AndyStephens on 15 April 2009, 22:50
Will a bulb like this go in the boot light? Mine has gone and I fancied a change of colour, just no idea what bulb i need!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-Deep-Blue-12V-5W-T10-Wedge-Position-Light-LED_W0QQitemZ150339204286QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item150339204286&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1683|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318#ht_1522wt_986

Thanks

well it seems that my problem is more complex. i put my bluevision sidelights in today and put BOTH of my old sidelight bulbs in the bootlight - nothing...

What could've gone wrong arrr. I dont even have a plug in the boot to fit a cold cathode or something instead. Poo

i dont know who you was replying to but theres a positive and negative on the bulbs. if it don't work when you push it in. try turning the bulb around so the connectors are a different way (make sense?)

so i've been reading around :D

And it seems a bit coincidental that my rear washer is acting up and my bootlight also doesnt work.

it seems common cause of the bootlight going is the washer jet thingie leaking into it. So i assume the microswitch is in the bootlid?

Anyone know how the hell you get the bootlid cover off? I've taken the two screws in the handles out and yanked like crazy but nothing. Is there something i'm missing or a nack to it??

need to try and lever someting under one corner to release a clip and then work your way around it from there

not sure never done it myself - i presume they are like the door card ones in which case yes they can break quite easily

ok, thanks a lot. I suppose if i give it a try and break any it will still go back on as the screws will hold it in place...

*blatantly going to break my car*

You'll be fine - just take your time. I think its unlikely you will break every clip!

When I removed mine, I broke one clip, but like you said, it goes back on fine (except that broken clip is now rattling around on the inside of the plastic trim every time I open my boot!!!)
