hello everyone i have had my GTI for a few weeks now and really want to put 18" wheels on it and lower it but where i live there are loads of big speedbumps how low do you recommend if at all?

30 - 40mm :wink:

i was thinking of getting some koni springs and shocks that go down 30mm will this look ok with 18" wheels and are koni good?

By some coilovers and get it as low as you can but still being able to get over all the bumps :wink:

Have a look at Rhyso's, Rich's, Bob's or Stink's car their all lowered 30mm :wink:

sorry you can now how can i look at thiers? and something else i wanted to no mine hasnt got that little front splitter thing that some have got they look so much better with it can i put one on somehow if so where do i buy them from?

30mm is not enough if you like the low look TBH - depends what you like.

Yeh i would like to go a bit lower then that i might go for 40mm shocks and springs because i was thinking of getting coilovers but didnt no if it was pointless or not because i wont be able to go very low.

IF you are unsure get coilovers IMO :smiley:

Depends how much you want to spend - you need to spend 400 + for a good set IMO

Here's mine on coilovers,i'm unsure of what drop though,maybe 50mm

yeh that looks well good did you have to uprate the arb for that and do you have problems going over speedbumps.

You can get some much cheaper and lots of people on here have and say thay are fine.

yeh that looks well good did you have to uprate the arb for that and do you have problems going over speedbumps.
Speedbumps are in 1st gear for me :grin:
I've got uprated arb's on now.

yeh thats what i mean and i have got about 15 on the road just before i turn into my road it will take me about a year to get home lol so i think 40mm will be best.

i can get koni shocks and springs lowers 40mm all round delivered for 300 quid which is what im gonna go for i think.

Ive got a 30mm drop on my car, and as stated, doese not give you the low low look.
but doese brng it down from the stilts :grin:
im thinking off dropping it on 40mm if im going to buy myself some 18's :undecided:

mines dropped -40mm and i have jom springs and shocks fitted not bad kit for the money tbh :afro: :wink: below £200 to

Not sure how much mines lowered at the front but it's too low, it scrapes on uneven roads, can't get it on my drive and speedbumps are a nightmare, i need to get it sorted but the wife does'nt like driving the navara so it'll have to wait till se gets the day off :sad:
