my favourite part will be the mot after spending 4+ years getting it up and running and still loads to do on it
-
Ordering a part and getting a bill for £1.50 or something mega-low like that.
-
nowt -
-
My old golf.. the minty freshness and cleanliness
My mk2 Jetta? The price! £200 for the car, sold the spares it came with and made £100 back! :D
-
Pretty much everything :)
- Price
- Looks
- Power
- Build quality
- Parts (Cheap and swapable with other VAG cars)
- Insurance (with the right credentials)
- Reliability
- Engineering
The whole damn package!
-
the sound of the turbo spinning up
-
They have the sexest front wings of any car
-
nowt -
 yes you do you'll be sad to see her go!
-
The fact it flew through the mot this afternoon and my Clio Sport failed the other month!
Dont make them like they used to!
-
Just the fact that its a MK2 Golf :D
-
Gear stick, I love the fact that I can get PURE POWER when i change my gear.... great control feeling !
-
The front big bumper and the quad headlamps are my favorite bits. Abit of a fetish
-
This pic was taken about an hour after the windscreen was removed, I can remember thinking just how crisp the spot welds still looked, and the only work that needed doing to the scuttle panel, was to shot blast a couple of tiny stone chips.. don't know why, but this pic just sums up my car (Pic is now 5yrs old)

the front twin headlight set up. love the look.
-
I love that fact that it's tucked away in the garage and will be sorted! I do like the silver ghetto's stance!
-
Cheap parts, lens fell out on headlight, look on ebay win one for 99p
-
Gear change
Handling
How (I think) it still looks good now 19 years on.
The exhaust note at full throttle
BBS wheels
:)
-
purely and simply the look of it when its sat on my drive with the steering on full lock oh and the cheap insurance
-
The difference in sound between when your foot is half down and when it's all the way down
-
'Chuckability' and looks
-
The good bits:
The extra bit of 'oomph' on my 8v after passing 60mph in 3rd (rev counter doesn't work!)
The fact it just pulls and pulls and the engine feels comfortable and refined at any speed
The grip when accelerating hard around a tight-ish corner
Remembering after half an hour of driving that the throttle pedal actually goes down a lot further than you've been using it
The front grille (quads+red stipe+black VW badge+'GTI')
The golf ball shaped gear knob
The dash warning LEDs
The look on chav Corsa driver's face in the rear-view mirror!
The bad bits:
Finding out that you can get fewer and fewer new parts from your local VAG (ebay makes up for some of this though!)
The realisation that it will die before most other cars on the road
-
when you polished it on a summers day, an then you park it up down at local pub by the river on the nite, it just looks so nice compared 2 other cars along side it
-
The fact it's on a K plate
(http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r301/dubvrs/P1000696-1.jpg)
The look on mk2 owners face when they see the switch on the dash for the electric sunroof

The look of it and the comments I get near enough every day, from strangers admiring it! Condition, bearing in mind it's coming up to 20 years old!!! The way you can chuck it into a corner at pretty much whatever speed you like and come out facing the same way!!!!!
-
I love everything about my MK2!
The fact I have no PAS, no E/W or C/L but a car that goes round corners like it was on rails and pulls like a train in every gear.
Makes me smile everytime I drive it, and the attention and respect it gets from the "Modern" car owners is amazing.
Best car ever.
-
The view from the front, nothing meaner.....
.....it used to be the sound of the engine but now it makes a horrid tapping sound and I can't fix it!!!!!
-
The way my Scorpion DTM exhaust changes pitch and whine as she powers through the revs
sounds like a symphony orchestra or something.
-
The fact that I have finally got the car I could only dream of owning when I was 20 (19 years ago)
A very original, oak green, big bumper valver
-
love the looks even after 23 years of age, most new cars look ghey
the induction roar, build quality, smell of the interior...
and
and
and...
well just everything
-
The fact i have driven it pretty much all day and not seen another one
-
My green wheels oh and the rest is not too bad either
-
The fact it hasn't got central locking and I don't have to tear my hair out over some recurrent failure of such an unnessary mod con.
And hey, a free workout due to keep-fit window winders. Manual all the way!
And the total absence of an ECU on the 1.3 engine. This seems to be a natural remedy for headaches.
What's more, the new spotlights, which are in mint condition, and have made such an difference to the look.
