Sorry Bros,
I need to know and ask if converting the DSG to manual.I will need the pedals, gearbox and shifters.I also know that the ecu wiring is different from the manual.Only reason is that the dealers here in Malaysia refuse to bring in manual versions.
Anyone can point me in the right direction please. Will the drive shafts be different as well?Anyone?
Thanks.
Best regards

Will cost thousands
Good luck!

If I were you, I'd learn to live with the DSG ;)
It IS actually very good.
In your position, I certainly wouldn't be upset if my dealer could ONLY get DSG :)
As pointed out, the cost would be stupid - better off doing a private import. Certainly cheaper.
Although it does beg the question, "why?"
Dan :)

Stick with DSG, its great!
-
Why would you do that ? lol
Alright, you might not be a fan of the DSG but really, how bad can it be? As said it will cost a silly amount to do and there really isnt any point . . .

Is it because you have a DSG without the steering wheel paddles?

Hi bros,
Ok I have a nice ABF powered 16v mk2 and a 1.8T AGU mk4 all manual. The mk4 is soft really.Mk 5 is way better and sturdy albeit a bit lower standard on the interior and ride quality. But DSG is good and I agree with you all.Private import is way too much money here.
Some moments u always wish that u can select the gears ur self and drive the car to the limits.Thats what im sure of the MK5 manual gti's owner will surely say.
Im not into race or pace setting etc etc.The manual will make me smile more often.Thats all.DSG is good and for those who likes auto, this is way better.
Thanks for your input though.

You can select the gear you want yourself via the paddles?
