Title: Oh the f@^$£" joys!!!
Post by: Miggie on 14 April 2009, 17:58
So today i decided to have a crack at th door module solder fix...

Got everything off quite quickly as my windows had dropped before....eventually managed to get the module out and when opened discovered that it wasn't in actually the "weak solder" problem at all but infact the little metal bits that go from the circuit to the main plug.

Off course i tried to solder this but........i melted the main plug (cause it was so close)...

Trying to put the thing together was a whole other struggle and after it was complete i still sat with a couple of bits

So now i'm sitting with not a faulty module but a completely f...... one!

Anybody have any ideas what now??

I suppose i'd need a new module?

Cost? part numbers?

Gutted

Sorry i shouldn't have put "part number"?

I normaly use the search and i did read the whole thread about the door module hence how i knew about the problem

But my question is what does the £78 get you.....the whole module including lock mechanism??

So off to the stealers it was today with my part number...no sir this is for the rear door

Including the 2 8mm triple square bolts (i f'd mine up) £98,13

To top it all off i've noticed that now the passenger door has an intermitent no puddle or inside light when door opened

I'm gona have a crack at the passenger door module. Surely this Must be a soldering issue :lipsrsealed:

As the subject! :undecided:

Just fitted my new door lock module and now the door works perfectly

So tommorrow i will be attempting to solder the passenger side one  It works(locks/unlocks), but puddle light and interior light don't come on and sometimes pops back up!

Hopefully it should all go well  :undecided:

Title: Re: Oh the f@^$£" joys!!! (All sorted now !!)
Post by: Miggie on 20 April 2009, 18:06
I removed my passenger side door module (i'm a pro at this now ) and much to my delight i found the no.7 solder joint had a little crack in it.

So 20mins later it was all soldered up and fitted and now the door works perfect......doesn't pop back up after being locked anymore and both the puddle and interior lights come one....YEAH!!!!

So anyone in the sw london area need this done, i'll be more than willing to help!
