My golf has a single wiper conversion that i dont like, cant get used to the wiper blade parked at the 12 o'clock position. How hard would it be to swap back to stock wipers?
I know i will need arms, blades, a wiper motor but looking at the car i will also need the black plastic strip that goes between the windscreen and the bonnet as this was chopped out for the single conversion.
Anything else i will need?
How long will it take and wheres the best place to get the parts?

do they all sit at the 12 0 clock position???
could be tempted with it if you wanna do a swap :)
-
I've been told they all sit at 12 o'clock, if i could change the parked position then i might keep but would prefer stock

let some1 else post but there must be a way of setting where the blade sits, i dont care though got cracks in me windscreen and allsorts so a blade in the middle wont phase me lol!!
id be willing to remove my stock ones my cars sitting around at the mo doing fek all with a broken gearbox :)

to alter the park position the nut that holds the crank mech to the motor needs to be loosened and put in a different position, then the wiper arm put back in position as desired... its trial and error really..

there ya go ^^^

but the motor is different for the single wiper, as it goes both left and right 90degrees? So i you lay it flat, it will try and wipe your bonnet? lol
-
ooohhhh contravercy!
-
Im not sure mate, but i thought that the single wiper was mounted at the center, and the motor changed so it goes 90 each way. Unlike a normal wiper.
So surely you need to refit the orignal motors?
Dont hold me too it, but i reckon its more than just undoing the nut and putting it back flat.

i aint got a scooby im here for the popcorn

The wiper does go 90 deg each side and then parks in the middle, think i'm going to try and source a standard wiper and arms and return to stock.
Watch this space soon for a single conversion for sale
