Title: Different injectors?
Post by: Steve_B on 13 April 2009, 18:26
When I got a new head recently the fuel rail and injectors came with it. The fuel rail has the same part number but the injectors are different. The ones I was using are yellow and the other ones are blue!  As you can see from the picture, they are different lengths

Yellow 037906031A
Blue 037906031C

Anyone know which ones are right for a 88 8v digifant?

Also, does it make much of a difference getting them cleaned? Is it worth the £40 or whatever it'll cost?

cheers
Steve

Going on what i read in dave walkers workshop in ppc mag cleaning them makes them flow more equally but actually slightly reduces the flow from them

I tried both the part numbers in etka but none of them came up

Just had a quick look on etka, part numbers for a 88 pb fuel injector are listed as
037906031P

This then supercedes to
037906031R

Hi
Are the part numbers Bosch.

Can't see Bosch written on them anywhere and they have what looks like the VAG logo on them (it's feckin tiny though, might be wrong  )

I reckon you want the yellow ones.  Those are the PB ones I pulled out of the GTI head I ran on carbs.

both are PB injectors, use whichever look best I suppose, or use your old ones if they're known good

Volkswagen MK2 digifant = 191.8cc/min, Bosch 0 280 150 757, VW 037 906 031A
Volkswagen MK2 digifant = 197 or 218.1cc/min?, Bosch 0 280 150 902, VW 037 906 031C

Cheers guys, will stick with the yellow ones then  Strongly suspect they've seen a lot less miles than the other ones anyway.
