Title: Help - Electric Window Stuck in Down Position!!!
Post by: krhall on 13 April 2009, 13:01
Can anyone help?

My window is stuck in the down position, which on a rainy bank holiday isn't great.

It has been working intermittently but normally rights itself. Could it be a loose wire?

Any ideas on how to get the door card off?

Ok took the switch off and plugged back in, managed to get it into the up/closed position but it seem not to want to go up or down again, what might be the issue?

It seems to make no attempt to click the motor or anything, all other windows are fine.

Took the switch out again and sprayed with a bit of wd40 and cleaned and it seems to work fine now.

All other windows work without the key in the ignition, but this one does not and will only work on the ignition.

Also noticed one of the rear windows only comes down a couple of inches at a time?

The windows undoing and doing up on the key is a great trick and one that would've saved me from losing my rag earlier!

Any advice on the remaining issues would be appreciated.

The front one is probably a knackered motor, swap it with a rear one for a quick and cheap fix.
