Ive used better second pictures of both to show potential as well as standard.

oh god, R32 definitely. Even though I'd go for a standard GTI if I had the choice. Clubman looks a bit rubbish.

i appreciate most prefer the GTI front. Someone on the R32 forum seems upset he doesn't own a mini clubman ad thinks the R32 is ugly....why he bought it i dont know

I personally don't thing the R32 is pretty - something about the chrome effect front and the central twin pipes at the rear (would have preferred them at either corner), but that Mini Clubman is a DOG (with all due respect to our 4 legged friends )

R32 without any doubt

both pretty ghey.

Yep, 4wd V6 cars are of course 'ghey' when lined up against something like the mighty MG

Couldnt care less. Previous car was 110bhp/l and this does 0-60 in 5.7 secs which is enough for me

The fastest mg was a maestro built over 20 years ago (dont even get into that piece of sh!t that was the xpower  )

Had 2 minis previous to my 32, a cooper then an S, im a fan of them but hate the new shape, main reason i didnt get one really as they are a great drive and tuning potential is damn good aswel.

Yep, i really don't give a turd how good they handle they are just    looking, plus the stupid double side doors open onto the road cos they dont change the layout from the LHD version.

Personally I wouldn't put these 2 cars in the same league... R32 all the way for me.  The regular cooper S might be a better comparison but I would still rather have a GTI or an R32.  But maybe that's just because I am 6' 4" and would look ridiculous in a mini

whereas driving a mid-sized hatchback with parking sensors makes you cooler than cat's pyjamas.

my mate works for the local bmw dealership as a mechanic in the workshop and even he said the mini is a terrible car not just looks etc but the actual cars have so many common faults and warranty recalls etc, my missus was going to buy one last year and asked my mate for some advice and he told her to steer well clear so now she got a mk6 fiesta ST lol whats that say  ford fiesta over a bmw mini oh plus the fact that the fiesta would trample all over the normal cooper and would be sniffing the arse of the cooper s version =bargain
Title: Re: R32 or Mini Clubman
Post by: Jkctr on 18 April 2009, 12:04
The fiesta also has one of the best chassis you can get in a hatch, great fun cars

From my experience of mini's (cooper s) are fantastic cars!!

My x used to have one a fair few years back (02) and it was a brilliant car. Never missed a beat, great fun to drive (if a little firm), and have held their value very very well over the years... in fact I cant think of a car that has held their vaule as well. The only downside is small boot, nice looking but cheap plastic interiors, and silly speedo unless you get the sat nav. Apart from that I loved driving it.... Im not too familiar with figures but im sure the ST would struggle to keep up with the cooper s.

Would I get one???? hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhell no
