hello all,  what are the syptoms for a knackerd dog bone mount?? also a knackerd flywheel?
i ask this as when i pull of in first gear i get a bit of judder, hard to explain but its like im trying to pull of in the wrong gear.
the biting point feels ok with the clutch,the car is still ok to drive it aint undrivable :smiley:

i did think the d/m fly is on its way out but after doing a search there seems a few things that can cause this.
so have any of you lot had the same problem?
i prefer to sort the problem than go down the process of elimination route :grin:

gear change will feel quite sloppy and it will feel like your engine is moving around in the bay

get someone to start the car whilst you watch the engine - if it tries to jump out at you chances are the mount is knackered

Replacing the dog bone mount is a straight forward enough job and worth doing especially when/if you re-map it does make a difference i used forge/poweflex ones but some on here go with the R32 one

thanx for replies, i have had my mate start the car and the engine dont seem to move a lot(seems normal) :undecided:
but i have a decatted down pipe which does knock ocasionally so i think the dog bone needs sorting, r32 or powerflex? dont want any cabin noise :wink:

yup uprated dog bone mount is a must i went down the Powerflex bush route you could also go down the R32 route tho  :wink:

bit of an update :smiley:
 got under the car earlier and seen these-

 so thought i would get the car up and have a butchers around, so took dog mount of, looks like this-

could the juddering when pulling of be becouse of this mount being to stiff? my exaust sometimes knocks aswell :undecided:
is the zorst to big, think its 3 inch, not 100% though,

should i just bin the dogbone for a r32 one see if this stops the vibration when pulling of???

I know rhys said his caused a vibration but he has a diesel.

Lots of people run powerflex with no trouble.  :undecided:

How about the engine mounts?

My money is on a worn flywheel  :undecided:

engine mounts ''seem'' ok without taking them of and having a look, will check them when i have time, but i have a feeling its the f/w aswell :sad: time to upgrade :grin:
