The heated seats don't work in my golf mk4, I have checked fuse 44 which i think is the one and its ok.
Where do I go from here? what should I be checking next?
Thanks,
Mike.

heated seat element in the seat base normally burns out
grab your multimeter and check there is power going down the loom - if there is then chances are the element is gone
you can buy replacement elements - takes about an hour to fit
-
An hour if you've removed the seat base's once or twice
-
check the fuse, plugs, if not then elements have gone! best of luck on that one!!!!

think heated seats is the green one - yellow is for the airbags

I like everything in my car to work so i'll have to look at them sometime.
Just fixed the drivers switch panel today, the button to lock the rear windows didn't work and the drivers window switch only worked down if you pressed it all the way to auto.

You can also check the resistance of the element! Again not sure of the pins or values but if the resistance is almost infinate then you got a break somewhere in the element and you need a new 1!

Like the last person said on that link - are the switches meant to light up to show there on?

Ok, Just removed the 2 front nuts and tilted the seat back to access the wires. Removed the green plug and checked for power, there are 4 wires, one thicker brown one (guessing its the earth) and 3 others. I checked for power between the thick one and the others and I'm getting 4.9v on one but nothing on the rest? don't know if this is correct? I read something about there being thermostats somewhere? where are they?
