hi al, got a 150 1.8t on a s plate and have aquired a ecu from a 180bhp version, can i swop it and make mine 180 or does it not work like that?

has ur golf got the ko3s turbo ? as thats wot the 180bhp golf run if it hasnt then no it wont. and if it has iam still not sure its that easy .hope this helps

180bhp will be AUQ, different management to the 150bhp Golfs so it won't work mate sorry

won't work - completely different ECU

your AGU for starters does NOT have a MAP sensor on the intercooler

been offered a ko3s turbo as well, straight swop to fit? anything else i need? is the a big difference?

Surely it will need to have the immobiliser defeated aswell.

yes and no - you can code an ECU to your exisiting clocks - it is easier if you start with the same ECU mind  :grin:

You cannot plug and play with the 180bhp ecu. It would be a huge task to get it working on the 150bhp AGU engine.

AGU ecus are M3.8 using simple mapping, ingnition, fueling and boost solinoid control

AUQ ecus are ME7.5 which use a complex torque based system,  compare to the m3.8 ecu the me7.5 uses more sensors inc a map sensor, plus the loom and ecu conectors are totally different, the me7.5 controls the power via an electronic throttle control where the agu uses a cable control.

The AGU me3.8 is more tuneable  compared to the me7.5 ecu plus it will return great results once remapped.  :wink:
