Title: split cv boot

hi just noticed my wheel was covered in a il liek residue front left side, took the wheel off and noticd the rubber cv joint had come off there oile and shyte everywhere behind the wheel... i need to do a nother 100 mile round trip tomorrow woudl it be ok to still drive it as it is am assumign the oile has all leaked out but i guess theres no where open in the mornign to fix it?

If you continue to drive it you will end up needing a new CV joint, if the gaitor isnt split take the wheel off and cable tie it on, cv grease flying near the brake disk isnt a good idea for obvious reasons  :wink:

also outter c.v boots are mot failure if split or leaking grease....

now then thanks for the responses i tookt he wheel off and the cv isnt split its just slipped off i saw a plastic cable tie holdign it on which is obviously no good  so woudl it just be acase fo findign soem cv boot grease filling it up and then using maybe a steel cable tie to hold it on?

yea make sure you use proper cv grease tho, pack it well or the cv joint will seize and a nightmare to change,  if you can get away with it use a big jublee clip, mind it doesnt rub on anything tho
